From 2007-2021 I worked as an RN (BScN) mainly in a Neonatal Instensive Care Unit, also with experience in Labour & Delivery, and Postpartum care. In 2011, I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and continued my association with the board until 2021. I have firsthand knowledge of routine hospital practices and how to overcome the barriers to breastfeeding that are often involved. I have also supported many families who chose home births. I continued my learning to include Cranial Sacral Therapy and integrate into every consult. This can address adhesions/tightness to promote better function of the body for infants in relation to feeding, but goes beyond to support digestion, sleep, neurological regulation, teething, and more.

I am passionate about empowering families with knowledge, support and practical suggestions to overcome their barriers for the most positive client experience. I provide realistic support and am understanding that every family needs an individual plan. At times I will encourage families to access other resources to assist with their breastfeeding goals, recognizing that a holistic approach is important. I am experienced in providing breastfeeding support from birth to the older infant, with expertise in early and late preterm infants.

After having my own child, I recognized the truth more than ever to the phrase, “it takes a village to raise a child.” Unfortunately, our culture doesn’t seem to support parents through this passage, and I at times felt like asking, “where is my village?” I understand the need more than ever for breastfeeding support as it can feel like the foundation of raising strong, healthy families. I hope to help you on your journey to making breastfeeding a positive experience and to enjoying your baby.

For the past 15 years I have provided counselling, treatment, and support to some of the strongest and most resilient people I have ever met. I’m still in awe of the vulnerability that people often bring to a counselling session. I truly admire the courage it takes to reach out and speak your truth. My passion is supporting women and mothers with their mental health and wellness.

I recognize the impact mental health can have in our lives; including the ability to mother, and to mother in a way that feeds our soul. I have personally experienced the heartache and strain that mental health can have on our ability to cope, function, and thrive in life. As a mother, I have learnt that if we prioritize our own mental health and wellness, it can positively impact our parenting and overall sense of self. They say it take’s a village to raise a child, but I believe it takes just as much love, compassion, patience, and encouragement to raise a mother. We all have our own limitations and personal struggles. I believe that this is where a supportive community can be born and this new identity as a mother can flourish. I look forward to seeing this unfold in the Mothering Your Mind group and in our 1-1 sessions.

For the past 15 years I have supported women and their children to manage and overcome depressive symptoms, anxiety, addiction, eating disorders, and a variety of other life challenges. I have a Masters of Social Work (Honours), a Trauma Treatment Certificate, and I’m a Registered Social Worker. I come to the table with a kind heart, a very compassionate and focused mind, but I also bring a sense of honesty and trust into everything I do. My counselling style incorporates Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Solution Focused treatments. I have offered 1-1 counselling sessions over the years, as well as facilitated over ten different types of treatment groups to men, women, and their families. I believe in the power of mindfulness, grounding, and yoga, as tools for good mental health and wellness. However, what I am most proud of above all else, are the three little ones who call me Mom. This journey has not been an easy one, but they say the most meaningful things in life are not. I am beaming with a rich light of energy, excitement, and love, with simply knowing that I will have the privilege to walk alongside you on your journey. I look forward to working with you.

I always knew that I wanted to pursue a career that would help others, but it wasn’t until I began my journey into chiropractic medicine that I understood what that pursuit would look like for me. After earning my Bachelor of Science, I went on to receive my Doctor of Chiropractic which then lead to an expansive internship at NY Chiropractic College. These experiences allowed me to uncover the ‘why’ behind my passions - helping families navigate beautiful changes in their lives. Practicing chiropractic has been such a rewarding feeling that sometimes words fail to describe.

I am so fulfilled not only by helping women and their babies thrive, but also through educating them on their bodies and how they can grow stronger connections to them. I also find it imperative that women have a reliable, safe option that they can depend on to receive the gentle and informed treatments that they deserve. I am so grateful for the opportunity to make positive contributions to people’s lives that will hopefully leave lasting impressions on their total health and well-being.

I work at both the Central and Hyde Park locations. I am accepting new patients at this time and look forward to meeting you!

Since becoming a Registered Nurse (RN) in 2012, I have been passionate about working with families in the perinatal period! Having a baby is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding times in a person’s life, but it can also be one of the most overwhelming, especially when faced with infant feeding challenges. My own journey as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) began after the birth of my first child, Hudson, who was born with a significant tongue-tie. Hudson and I faced many breastfeeding challenges but I was lucky to have received the support of a couple amazingly talented IBCLCs. After overcoming these challenges, I felt called to shift the focus of my career to work with families experiencing difficulties with breast/chest-feeding. I have since helped hundreds of parents and babies to navigate all sorts of infant feeding challenges and have also gone on to breastfeed two more children of my own!

Having worked through the experience of tethered oral tissues (TOTs), aka tongue and lip ties, with two of my three kids, I have taken a special interest in TOTs as an IBCLC. I have attended specialized trainings related to working with infants with TOTs and have gained some very valuable expertise in working with these babies. Whether your baby may have TOTs or not, as an IBCLC, I will use my skills, knowledge, and experience to help you and your baby to overcome whatever feeding struggles you may be facing.

Today, we live in a challenging culture; one that is fast-paced, demanding, promotes independence, and strives relentlessly for a socially constructed view of success. I believe that in many cases we have gotten turned backwards and upside down. Why do you think people are searching for things such as yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and minimalism? Because our bodies and spirits are crying for something different- something deeper.

I am a working mom of two on a journey of creating balance, mothering with kindness, making big mindset shifts and managing stress well, so I can live my best, intentional mom life! And, I have been that person. I have found myself stressed and overwhelmed with life and work demands. I have worked in jobs that were demanding and high stress while trying to be present for a family. And I have been that working professional who secretly struggles with a mental illness. All of these experiences have made me into the social worker I am today. I’ve combined my personal experiences and professional expertise to create an approach that is integrative, collaborative, and trauma-informed.

Professionally, I am a social worker with over 14 years of counselling experience with a specialization in mental health, and stress management. My specialized training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and life coaching equips me to tailor strategies that fit your needs. I want my clients to feel seen, heard, validated, and understood in whatever they are feeling and experiencing.

Over the years, I have seen the impacts mental illness, toxic stress, and burnout can have on women. I also know that although there is a lot of great work being done on the stigma around these things, it is often still very taboo and feels shameful to admit that you are struggling. For years I have had a dream – a beautiful dream of how to support, encourage, and create a safe space for women who may be struggling to maintain positive mental health, exhausted by the toxic stress in their lives, struggling with a mental illness, or searching for healing. To be a community that redefines ‘working mom’ and prioritizes mom’s mental health and well-being - because when we help moms thrive we impact the next generation and make the world a better place. I invite you to be a part of that dream.

As a mom of three kids ages 4 and under, I understand the challenges of caring for our own bodies while supporting the development of our little ones. This is why I am passionate about both pelvic health and pediatric physiotherapy. I would be honoured to support you through some of the physical changes that come with pregnancy, delivery, and the post-partum period. Together we will find how physiotherapy can fit into your life so you can minimize discomfort during pregnancy, prep for delivery, and maintain or return to the activities you love to do – and even become stronger than before pregnancy (no matter how long ago you were pregnant!).

Once your little one arrives, they may need some extra support meeting motor milestones and addressing other physical concerns such as torticollis, brachial plexus injuries, and plagiocephaly. I love working with families to support their children in a fun, playful and engaging manner. I am also able to address pelvic health concerns in children including incontinence, bedwetting, and constipation.

I completed my Physiotherapy training at Western University with additional training in Pelvic Health and Pediatric Physiotherapy. I have also completed a Master’s degree in Neuroscience and a PhD in Physical Therapy at Western University which help me understand the important role the nervous system plays in both pelvic health and child motor development.

Hi, my name is Anjali. In my care, I focus on understanding the whole person, not just the condition. I take a trauma-informed, holistic approach and look at how physical, mental, and emotional health all connect. I also take care of each person, because no two recovery journeys are the same.

I’ve developed a strong interest in pelvic health and have completed Level 1, 2, and 3 training in this area. I’m continuing to build experience in pediatrics as I feel immense joy working with kids. I also work with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and use manual therapy, exercise, acupuncture, and cupping to support recovery.

Outside of work, I like painting, playing badminton, and being outdoors. I’m also Caribbean-Canadian, and that background is a meaningful part of how I connect with people from different walks of life.

I completed my Master’s in Physical Therapy after studying Health Sciences (specialization in Rehabilitation Sciences) with a Minor in Psychology at Western University.
